Lex Allan’s Premier League dream could be a step closer.
The Sittingbourne defender plays in a friendly for Crystal Palace under-18s today and the Eagles want to see more of him.
They even put the 18-year-old through a heart scan on Monday and appear to be the front-runners should he leave the Brickies.
Palace were among a host of top-flight and Championship clubs who watched Allan in the 1-0 League Cup win over Merstham last week, with the 6ft 7in youngster impressing once again.
Brickies boss Nick Davis, who will be at Palace with Allan, said: “I spoke to the Palace scout for a long time and he said Lex has something you can’t teach.
“He’s got that stature at a young age, being freakishly big, he’s quick, he moves well and is good on the floor as well.
“I don’t know how it will work out at Palace but he’s got all the attributes.
“If someone got hold of him and put him in their under-23s for a couple of years, he could really take off.
“He’d have the best coaching and be in the gym every day - he could be an absolute unit.”
Allan has also trained with Millwall and been scouted by the likes of Chelsea, Fulham, QPR and Reading.
