Boss Nick Davis wants four new players to turn Sittingbourne into a top-eight side.

Brickies finished the Ryman League Division 1 South season in 12th place after a run of three defeats in their last 14 matches.

Davis said: “Twelfth is a good achievement. The squad wasn’t strong enough when I came in and it took time to change things but we’ve ended the season well.

“I’d like to think we could have a go at finishing in the top eight next season. There’s a little bit of a gap this season but it’s certainly doable.”

“We need another four players.The priority is a centre-midfielder, someone who can put their foot on the ball and be a calming influence. I’d also like an out-and-out winger, to give us another option.”

The majority of Brickies’ squad have agreed to stay at Woodstock Park although Davis is unsure about Peter Smith and Javlon Campbell.

He said: “Peter’s played the last couple of games for Phoenix. Have we seen the last of him? I don’t know. The door’s always open.

“Javlon’s not been about for the last two or three weeks of the season. I signed him more for the short-term but I wouldn’t rule out seeing him against next year.
