A Brickies club statement read: "Sittingbourne FC are thrilled to announce the appointment of Nick Davis as first-team coach.

"Nick returns to us after - not only playing for the team but also having had two spells in the managerial hot-seat - co-managing the team from September 2013-July 2014 and also solo from October 2014-January 2018.

"The club believe that Nick possesses the knowledge, skills and connections to, not only head first-team matters and bring improvements to the club, but also to have the time and ability to set up close working relationships with the academy and youth in order to ensure the growth and success of the club in the coming years."

Davis' appointment comes after Sittingbourne announced the departure of manager Darren Blackburn after two years in charge earlier this month, despite Blackburn leading the club to a 10th-placed finish.

Earlier on Sunday, VCD, who finished a place ahead of Sittingbourne in ninth at the end of the 2021/22 season, announced Davis had left the club.

A Vickers statement read: "Following recent discussions, VCD Athletic confirm that it has been mutually agreed that manager Nick Davis and his management team will leave VCD Athletic with immediate effect [everyone at] VCD would like to thank Nick and his team for their efforts over the last three seasons, albeit dogged with the Covid epidemic.

"We wish Nick and his assistants all the best for the future and wish him luck in whatever avenue he goes down.

"Applications for the first-team manager post are now invited for the position, private and confidentially, emailed to VCD Athletic club secretary Dave Joy [whose email] address is Davejoyo@yahoo.co.uk."

Davis took charge of VCD at the start of July in 2020 after leaving his role as Faversham's assistant manager.

His previous spell at Woodstock ended in 2018 as he quit Sittingbourne over a budget cut - although the club were considering his future at that stage anyway.
