Maurice Dunk is the new chairman of Sittingbourne Football Club.

He has stood down as chairman of Woodstock Sports to join Bourne and succeeds Andy Spice, who is staying on as vice-chairman.

Mr Dunk (pictured) said: "I was approached by Andy Spice to take over as chairman. He felt Sittingbourne needed a fresh approach and we will be working together to bring in more sponsorship and relaunch the club at Woodstock Park.

"He’s worked incredibly hard to keep Sittingbourne going over the last 10 years since they moved out of the main stadium at Central Park.

"We’ve spoken at the end of every season for the last five years.

"The lease was up at Bourne Park and there was a real possibility the club would fold, so this year I said ‘do you know what, let’s do something.'"
