Sittingbourne have signed striker Ricky Gundry following his release from Chatham.
He made his debut in Brickies’ 3-1 defeat by Lewes at the weekend and started Tuesday night's 4-0 win over Ramsgate.
Davis said: “With Jordan Gallagher suspended for three games, we needed someone else up there with Miles Cornwell and it was a good time to get him in.
“He’s the sort of player who plays in a number of positions and works hard for the team. I played against him when I had a little spell at Tunbridge Wells and he was at Rochester. He scored 20-odd goals that season.
“He’s not overly big but he’s aggressive and I like that about him. I believe he left Chatham by mutual agreement. I don’t know why but he became available and I took the opportunity to get him in.”
Danny Rumbol, Tom Carlse, Jono Richardson and Josh Wisson got the goals against Ramsgate as Brickies moved up to 10th in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Gallagher, meanwhile, completes his suspension when mid-table Bourne go strugglers East Grinstead on Saturday. Steven Ita could be available after a knee problem, while Danny Leonard is over his early-season injury.
Sittingbourne host Ramsgate for the third time in four weeks when the sides meet in the Kent Senior Cup first round on Tuesday (7.45pm).
