Kent Kings will welcome home a world champion to Central Park on Monday night.

James Shanes is back in Kings colours for the National Cup semi-final tie against Eastbourne Eagles (6.30pm), a day after helping Great Britain to glory at the Longtrack World Cup in Germany.

Britain took the title with 42 points, finishing a point clear of Germany and Finland.

Shanes will be lining up alongside a new face for Kings tonight, with Redcar teenager Ben Basford set to make his debut.

Basford, who won the Northern Junior League last year, has National League experience with Buxton and Birmingham this season.

He replaces Adam Sheppard, who left last week due to ongoing mechanical problems
