Sittingbourne have signed a midfielder on the recommendation of Dartford manager Steve King.
Brickies boss Darren Blackburn was looking for an extra body after being hit by a number of injuries.
With Sam Flisher joining Toby Ajala, Harry Miller and Danny Taylor on the sidelines, Blackburn put the feelers out and has landed Ibrahim Bamba.
The former Eastbourne United man could make his debut when the Brickies visit Isthmian South East bottom side Phoenix Sports on Saturday.
“He was recommended by Steve King at Dartford,” said Blackburn.
“He’s been training there and where we’ve been a bit short through injuries, I was looking to get someone in.
“He’s an energetic midfielder who gets about, and we need that in there with Sam Flisher now out.
“I think he’s played in Switzerland and France. He’s not been over here too long but he’s played for Eastbourne United.
"I had a chat with Steve and watched him in a session to find out what he’s all about.
“There’s a good chance he’ll be involved on Saturday because we aren’t exactly flush in midfield for certain types of player.
“We think Sam will be out four weeks, minimum, with his hamstring and George Monger hasn’t played a lot of football, so it’s difficult to chuck him straight in when the pitches are muddy and heavy.
“With Ibrahim, he’s played five or six games for Eastbourne United and he’s been training twice a week with Dartford, so he’s ready to start.
“Longer term, when everyone’s back in the mix, we’ll have to see how it works out for all of them, but you need good options because it’s rare you’ve got everyone available.”
Blackburn is reading nothing into the league table as play-off hopefuls Sittingbourne prepare for this weekend’s game at Phoenix.
Their opponents sit eight points from safety but are improving under new boss Steve O’Boyle, with two wins and a draw in their last four games.
“I’m not paying much attention to the league table, I’m looking at the form guide,” said Blackburn, who saw last weekend’s home game against Burgess Hill postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
“I know Boyley well, he’s a good manager who’s always done well and he always puts a competitive team together.
“I’m sure it will be a competitive game and we’re looking forward to going there.”
The Burgess Hill game has been rearranged for Tuesday, January 25.
