Steve Boxall set two new track records at Central Park on Monday night but Kent Kings slipped to defeat against Mildenhall Fen Tigers.

Kings captain Boxall got the home side off to a great start when he won the first heat in a record 57.7 seconds.

However, the Tigers soon got their noses in front and back-to-back one-two finishes put them 10 points ahead after five races.

Boxall went even faster in heat six, clocking 57.5 seconds to set another new record. He won four races and chalked up 17 points for the Sittingbourne-based Kings.

But Mildenhall proved too strong overall and they took four league points after winning the meeting 52-39.

Kent, lying seventh in the National League, are still looking for their first point of the season. They travel to Isle of Wight Islanders for the second leg of their Knockout Cup tie tonight (Tuesday).
