Speedway fans missing their dose of action at Central Park can relive a thrilling climax this week.

The Sittingbourne-based Kent Kings are replaying speedway heaven every Wednesday at half past seven on their website.

Fans can watch the Bank Holiday afternoon visit of Suffolk side the Mildenhall Fen Tigers, from 2016 - a never to be forgotten match.

The match is described by the Kings as “surely the most dramatic climax and greatest ever last bend of a final heat ever seen at Central Park.”

If you missed it back in 2016 then you can watch it back for free tonight (Wednesday).

Next week fans have a choice of three more meetings to choose from.

There is the 2013 match against Buxton Hitmen - featuring the first appearance at Central Park of a rider to go on to be a British Champion - the 2016 visit of the Isle of Wight Warriors or Stoke Potters’ visit in 2018 which saw a first ever five ride maximum from one of Kent Speedway's favourite sons.

British Speedway say that the vast majority of members of the British Speedway Promoters Ltd have expressed a willingness to make every effort to stage racing following Glasgow Tigers’ withdrawal.

The Kings have said racing without spectators would not work, as they would be devoid of income. A possible restart in August is being considered by sport’s governing body.

British Speedway said: “Social distancing may well be reduced by August and we are 10/11 weeks away from a potential season, so we really don’t know where we will be in terms of prospects until this time next month.

“We will continue to keep everyone updated on the situation as often as possible. If there is no season, it won’t be for the want of trying from most clubs.”

Speaking recently, chairman of the British Speedway Promoters Ltd, Rob Godfrey, said: “There is little doubt in my own mind that some league racing will be possible this year. We can implement social distancing measures in stadia, both inside and outside the venue.

“We realise various club have different circumstances regarding their business, but I really do believe there will be some speedway this year.”

Organisers are considering staging half a season worth of fixtures when/if they resume for 2020.
