Kent Kings commercial manager Neil Day has thanked the team's fans for their continuing support this season, despite wins being few and far between.

The weather ended hopes of a victory on Monday when a downpour forced Kings to postpone their National League meeting against Coventry Storm. The team have won only three out of 19 meetings in all competitions, but Day praised the loyalty of the fans.

However, the club are unlikely to disclose attendance figures.

Day said: “I’m not at liberty to reveal the numbers. It’s not something speedway clubs will publish, but we’re happy with our crowds.

“It can have an effect in some sports when your team’s not winning, but we can’t fault the support we’ve had.

“We’ve had the bumper crowds at the two Bank Holiday meetings and we’re hoping for another one on the August Bank Holiday when Dudley come down. As for regular Monday nights, we’ve stayed at the level we expected.”

Kings go to Buxton Hitmen on Sunday and host Wimbledon Dons in the John Cearns Cup on Monday.
