Kent Kings Speedway have stepped up security following the Manchester bombing.

All bags were searched as spectators entered Central Park stadium in Sittingbourne for Kings' National Knockout Cup tie against Eastbourne Eagles on Bank Holiday Monday.

A minute's silence was held in memory of the 22 people killed in last week's attack at the Manchester Arena and Kings said in a statement: "We send our prayers and thoughts to the families and friends of the unfortunate victims of this shocking outrage.

"We remind ourselves and all our supporters attending sporting meetings and other events across the country in the coming days, weeks and months that vigilance is necessary in these times."

The new security measures at Central Park will also be in place for greyhound meetings.
