Sam Woods suffered a fractured shoulder as Kent Kings lost 53-39 in a National League speedway meeting at Mildenhall Fen Tigers on Sunday.

The youngster has a hospital appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) following his crash and could be facing a long spell on the sidelines.

Kings left Mildenhall empty-handed although captain Steve Boxall set a track record time of 49.68sec to win heat five.

Boxall finished with 11 points while Connor Coles again showed his potential with eight points and a bonus point.

Kent host Stoke Potters in the National Trophy at Central Park tonight (Monday).
