Relentless Sittingbourne scored 13 tries to hit top spot in Kent 4.
They thrashed Sidcup 3rds 83-3 at the Grove on Saturday to make it two wins out of two.
There were two tries apiece for Karl Floyd, Deane Gaunt and Frank Hales, with one each for Danny Olteanu, Harry Talbot, Jake Jeffery, Matt Laverick, Hal Catlin, Jacob Smith and Jack Hobson.
Jack Miller added nine conversions for the rampant hosts, while No.6 Bradley Duffield was man-of-the-match.
“It wasn’t unexpected that we were going to win but we definitely didn’t expect to win by that margin,” said director of rugby Dave Pratt. “It’s nice to be back at the top of the table.
“We had a great start last season as well.
“It puts more pressure on you because everyone wants to beat you but we’ll see what happens.
“We’re playing well, availability is good, the injury count is low - it’s all positive.”
Pratt and head coach Gary Miller were pleased to see Sittingbourne maintain their discipline.
Players can end up doing their own thing when a game is that one-sided but that wasn’t the case for Bourne.
“Even though we were winning convincingly, they still stuck to the game plan,” said Pratt.
“If that had been us last year, we probably would have ended up with half the tries.
“The pressure was on Sidcup from the kick-off, it was relentless, they never had a chance to breathe.
“That’s what I think won us the game.
“Every breakdown, every scrummage, they were knocked off the ball, they were always going backwards.
“We want to put that level of pressure on every team we play. Our aim is to leave a mark on the opposition.
“If you don’t get a chance to breathe, you can’t gather your thoughts, you’re on the back foot straight away.
“That’s the high-intensity game we want to play.”
Sittingbourne suffered one injury, with Connor Watson knocked out by what Pratt described as a “fantastic tackle”.
He’ll be out for 21 days once clear of concussion.
