Sittingbourne finally get to play their first home match at Woodstock Park this weekend.

The WEM Stadium failed its initial ground grading a fortnight ago but inspectors were satisfied it met Ryman League criteria when they returned last Thursday.

Brickies chairman Maurice Dunk said: "It’s going to be a big day in the history of Sittingbourne Football Club. We need to try to get the feel-good factor back in the club.

"It’s been a hell of a summer not knowing what league we’d be in and where we’d be playing, which are the two most basic requirements.

"Now we can say we have a secure base at Woodstock, the club’s debt-free and we start with a blank sheet of paper."

On the pitch, defender Ashley Ulph’s future is on the line after he was sent off at Merstham on Saturday.

Sittingbourne were fined by the FA for their poor disciplinary record last season when they were shown 16 red cards, including two for Ulph.

Joint-boss Jim Ward said: "He’ll be dealt with internally. We just can’t have it after last season. The players have been warned that if there’s any future misconduct they will be asked to leave the club."
