Sittingbourne Football Club have been fined £300 for their poor disciplinary record last season.

Joint-boss Jim Ward feels they got off lightly and has warned he will get rid of players who let the club down.

Brickies attended an FA hearing at Wembley Stadium on Monday after finishing top of the disciplinary table in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

It was their second visit to the FA, having been warned about their conduct in January.

Ward said: “We accumulated 260 disciplinary points in the first half of the season, which led to the initial warning.

“Although we only accumulated 120 points in the second half of the season, we still finished top of the disciplinary league.

“It was their right to call us back and we were expecting to be battered with a fine of at least £1,000.

“But we had a fair hearing. They were pleased we’d turned things around a bit and we got a fine of £300.

“We had 11 red cards before Christmas and five after. It's still not good and the players will be told about it when we start pre-season training on Saturday.

“We’ve got a new code of conduct in place. If players are sent off for dissent, they might have to leave the club because I’m just not having it.”
