Sittingbourne say no decision had been taken on Nick Davis' future and have asked him to reconsider his resignation.
Davis said on Sunday night he had been forced to quit as joint-manager as Matt Wyatt wanted to take sole charge and had the board's backing.
It's emerged Davis' resignation came as a result of talks with Wyatt, rather than any committee members.
A Brickies statement said: "The club has discussed the issue of having a single manager at committee level but no decision had been made.
"Joint-managers Matt Wyatt and Nick Davis discussed this and Nick felt that his position was in doubt.
"As a club we would have liked Nick to stay on as an assistant manager or player-coach.
"Nick takes his coaching badge shortly and we feel he could have learnt a lot from Matt, however, he felt he could not do this.
"We have asked Nick to reconsider his resignation but if he does leave we would like to thank him for all he has done at the club.
"He is a good player and has been loyal to the club and we wish him well for the future."
Wyatt said on Monday morning he had deleted Davis' phone numbers after a fall-out.
