Sittingbourne players responded to a half-time rollicking by blowing away Ramsgate.

They were lucky to be leading at half-time - Johan Caney-Bryan the scorer on his return from an ankle injury.

Manager Chris Lynch let rip and saw his side complete a 7-0 victory thanks to a second goal for Caney-Bryan, Chris Barnard's double, Harry Taylor, Tommie Fagg and a penalty from development squad player Sam Stace.

Lynch, his side back in Isthmian South East action after three postponements, said: "Credit Ramsgate but I had some choice words at half-time because we looked a little bit out of shape.

"We looked a bit rusty so I got them in and ripped them apart.

"I'm lost for words how good we were in that second half. We absolutely destroyed Ramsgate.

"We scored inside two minutes and went back to the team we'd been at training.

"I felt sorry for Ramsgate to be honest because that's not good for any side - winning or losing - by that type of margin but it was complete domination second half and that's how good we can be."

While thrilled with the result, Lynch wasn't quite ready to forget Sittingbourne's first-half performance when he addressed players after the game.

He said: "Even at 7-0 I rollicked them because, yes, we were dominant but we should have done that in the first half.

"Ramsgate worked hard but ultimately we were too easy to be moved around the pitch.

"Our lads know better, they know our shape, our style, we get touch-tight, but Ramsgate had time to turn in midfield and drive at us.

"Second half, we got our positioning right and that was it."
