SHANE BYRNE claimed his first victory of the season during round nine of the British Superbike Championship at Mallory Park on Sunday.
The Sittingbourne rider controlled the opening race after early leader Ryichi Kiyonari had crashed out on the Leicestershire race circuit.
Byrne also took a podium finish in race two. The Honda rider finished third after moving up a place following Jonathan Rea’s crash, which led to an early finish to the race as the marshalls red-flagged it on safety grounds.
