Swale Combined athletes celebrated their 2024 achievements at the club’s presentation evening.
Alfie Walach’s amazing season saw him compete in five national championships, including the Combined Events Championships.
He was recognised with three awards, being named male athlete of the year and receiving the combined events and under-15 boys prizes.
An impressive fifth in her first National Championships and bronze in the Kent Schools Championships brought Harriet Smith female athlete of the year, under-15 girl and athletes’ athlete of the year.
Millie Rumley took the hurdles shield after a successful first year in the under-15 age group.
She finished fourth in both the Kent Championships and Kent School Championships, and competed in the South of England Championships and the National Championships.
Collecting silver in the Kent Championships for both discus and hammer and bronze for discus in the South of England Championships helped Blake Gates receive the throws award and under-17 men’s prize.
Lily Murray collected the under-20 women’s award after ending the season ranked second in the UK in her group for the hammer throw.
Olwen Cockle claimed the distance award. She won gold at the Kent Masters Championships, came sixth in the Kent Cross-Country League in her age group and competed in events from 1,500m to a 30-mile ultra-marathon.
Azaliah Ojoulape received the sprints award, having won a bronze medal at the Kent Under-13 Championships and broken the club record for 75m.
In his first year of competing, Jon Cork achieved UK rankings in his age group for six different events and received awards for masters men and sportsman of the year.

Sporthall athlete: Oceane Argivier. Senior women: Freya Jury. Masters women: Christine Lynch. Under-11 girls: Rachel Owusu. Under-13 girls: Megan Fulton. Under-13 boys: Mathis Argivier. Under-17 women: Morgan Argivier. Under-20 men: Darren Hind.
