Aslan Odev hailed Ira Jackson after the former Dover winger scored on his Sittingbourne debut.
Jackson is on the comeback trail after injury problems and has found the perfect home.
He caught the eye in Brickies' 2-1 win at Horsham, scoring the second goal.
Boss Odev said: "Ira was offered a pro contract at Dover but got injured before he could sign it and was injured at Margate as well.
"They were unfortunate injuries - impact injuries - so he's been unlucky.
"He's looking to get back in the game and he's very focused and determined to go higher.
"We like that at Sittingbourne and we'll be good for him.
"He loves the coaching staff, the players and the atmosphere here.
"It wasn't difficult to sell the club to him."
Bola Dawodu also impressed on his return to the club.
He played in midfield for the Brickies last season but has rejoined from Faversham in his preferred position up front as Kane Rowland's replacement.
Odev said: "Bola did really well for us last season but he left because he wanted to be a striker.
"On Saturday he showed why because his link-up play was fantastic and his energy was brilliant.
"After Kane left, we needed an athletic striker who can press defences.
"I got in contact and he was more than up for coming back."
Sittingbourne are looking to build on their performance at Horsham when they host Greenwich in Bostik South East on Saturday.
Boro are much-changed following a budget cut.
Odev said: "I thought we were brilliant against Horsham, particularly in the first half.
"We pressed hard and we want that to be our identity.
"We want teams to know they won't get an easy ride against us.
"Greenwich are a different beast this season but it won't be an easy game by any means."
