Sittingbourne boost frontline with capture of East Grinstead striker Hassan Jalloh

Sittingbourne have signed striker Hassan Jalloh from East Grinstead.

Jalloh had a brief spell at Brickies several years ago and now wants to nail down a regular spot at Woodstock.

He made his debut in the 5-1 defeat against Greenwich Borough on Monday and could start at sixth-placed Carshalton on Saturday.

Manager Nick Davis said: “Hassan played some games for us a few years back, when I was first involved here.

“He scored a lot of goals last season and Greenwich went in for him. He became available and called me. I think he gives us another option going forward.

“He hadn’t played for a while but he showed some nice touches.”

Davis has urged his players to keep their heads up after four defeats in five games halted their Ryman League Division 1 South play-off ambitions.

They’re 11th, nine points off fifth spot, having played more games than the teams above them.

Davis said: “I just want us to pick up as many points as we can in the last 18 games. If we can surpass what we did last season and get in that top 12, I’d be more than pleased."

Conrad Lee and Sam Welch return against Carshalton but Danny Rumbol is still away, while Steven Ita remains sidelined with a groin problem and could be out for another two weeks.
