Sittingbourne’s latest signing made a dream start to his Brickies career.
Keanu Williams, who’s joined from Margate, scored just over a minute into his debut at Chipstead on Saturday.
He added a second in a 2-2 draw that keeps the Brickies 13th in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Manager Nick Davis said: “We’ve signed him a bit blind but we’re in a position where we can afford to take a few risks.
“It looks like a decent gamble on that performance but it is only one game.
“He did well. I think he had two attempts and scored two goals. He’s not played much in the last four or five weeks, so it’s a decent debut for him.
“We were told he could finish and that he was quite explosive and that’s what we saw on Saturday. He’s only 20 and he’s ambitious, so we’ll see how he goes.”
Sittingbourne have no injury worries ahead of Saturday's home game with second-placed Dorking.
Brickies lost the away game 3-0 in December, with Davis hailing Dorking as the best side in the league. He stands by that opinion, but has a plan to stop them.
Davis said: “We can enjoy this one, it’s a free game. We’re not expected to get anything but we might just have a little say in the title race if we get a result.
“I still say they’re the best side I’ve seen this season.
“They were very, very good but let’s see if they can play the same way at Woodstock. I’m not so sure. I want us to have a go but we also need to stop them playing."
