Sittingbourne return to action this week with manager Nick Davis still looking to sign a couple more players.
Brickies hadn’t played a pre-season friendly before their trip to Whitstable on Tuesday, but they now face five more games before the league season starts.
Tilbury visit on Saturday and Davis’ side then face games against Welling Town, Sheppey United, Borden Village and Grays Athletic.
Davis said: “We haven’t had much game time at all in the two weeks, only an in-house game, so it’s difficult to view players on training alone.
“We’ll hopefully get a game on Thursday against our under-18s and Saturday we’re at home to Tilbury. The games then come thick and fast.
“We’ve got four weeks to the beginning of the season. It seems like pre-season’s gone on forever and we’ve only been there two weeks.
“But it gives us plenty of time to gel and get our systems and formations right.
“We’re looking forward to it. We want the season to start now – well, I do – but we’ve got some work to do before that.
“We’re still looking for maybe one or two if I’m being honest.
“I’ve signed 14 players on now. Realistically, I can’t sign more than 17, 18 at the absolute tops and that might be one or two that are going to play elsewhere on dual-registration.
"I couldn’t have dreamt we’d be as strong as what we are on paper at the moment. I’m delighted with what we’ve done.”
