Shane Byrne saw his British Superbike Championship lead cut on Bank Holiday Monday.
He finished second and fourth at Cadwell Park with both races won by home favourite Alex
Lowes, who is now eight podium credits and 37 points behind the Sittingbourne rider.
Champion Byrne remains the odds-on favourite with bookmakers to win his fourth title with one round to go, at Donington Park on September 8, before the end-of-season Showdown.
Shakey said: "I was happy enough with the pace in the opening race but we tried a change for race two and it simply didn't work, so I'm a little frustrated to concede some ground to Alex this weekend.
"We will check the data to find out what we need to do as I really need to maximise any advantage at Donington Park before the Showdown starts."
Byrne's Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki team boss Paul Bird added: "You can't win them all and it wasn't to be our weekend at Cadwell."
