Nick Davis has told Sittingbourne players the grass isn’t always greener elsewhere.
The Brickies manager anticipates interest in his best young players but is hopeful the likes of Jack Steventon and Conrad Lee will stay at Woodstock Park.
Sittingbourne complete the Ryman League Division 1 South season at home to Molesey on Saturday (3pm), with Davis keen for early commitment as he plans for next year.
He said: “It’s natural there will be interest in some of our players.
“Teams know we don’t have the biggest budget and if they were to throw money around, it might turn players’ heads.
“But I’ve spoken to the majority of the younger lads and they’ve verbally agreed to stay.
“I just believe the grass isn’t always greener. If you’re enjoying your football and playing regularly, why move on for an extra £20 or £30?
“It’s down to the individual. I’m not going to make any promises about being in the top 10 or wherever.
“Our aim is to progress from where we are and I want people who want to be here."
