Harry Smith is set to sign a contract with Sittingbourne after rejecting a treble-your-money offer from Hythe.
The 6ft 7in striker has scored six goals for Brickies this season and is highly rated by manager Nick Davis.
There has also been interest from Whitstable in the young striker who has stayed loyal to the club who gave him a chance in Ryman League football.
Boss Davis said: “It’s important we keep hold of our best players.
“Hythe offered to treble his money but he’s a loyal lad.
“I half-knew he would stay but we’ve had a bad run of results lately and I wondered whether he might want to try something different.
“But he said if we believed in him and wanted him to stay then he would. We must be doing something right to keep him and it’s good to see money doesn’t always turn people’s heads.
“He’s someone the club could potentially make money from. From the word go I said I believed in Harry, when others didn’t.
“I said he can be anything he wants to be, as long as he controls his temper and gets his head down."
