Sittingbourne have completed three new signings in a bid to kickstart their season.
The Brickies haven’t had the results they feel performances deserve, winning only one of their seven Isthmian South East games.
They’ve reacted by signing Sid Sollis and Adam Woolacott from Hythe, along with former Wigan keeper Jordan Perrin.
Sollis has goals in him, Woolacott adds creativity in midfield and Perrin, who’d been on trial at Barnet, will compete with Tom Benham in goal.
Manager Chris Lynch said: “Sid was banging in some goals at Margate last season and did well before he got injured.
“He ended the season on loan at Hythe and started this season there and then they loaned him out to Canterbury.
“He’s a lad who needs someone to put an arm round him and believe in him.
“I’ve seen him and he was one of my first targets when I came here because he’s my type of player.
“He’s strong, powerful, knows where the net is and if you treat him right he’ll respond and you’ll get the best out of him.
“There’s no pressure on him but, potentially, he’s a great signing.
“He’s still young, he’s willing to give it a go and I think he’ll rise to the challenge.
“Adam’s a ball-playing midfielder who spent time at Ramsgate and went to Canterbury last year.
“He got a move to Hythe but with Sam Denly leaving, he’s been released and I’m happy to snap him up.
“I’ve worked with him before and I think he’s a good player.
“With Jordan, he’s another good young keeper.
“He was up at Wigan and got released a few months back.
“He’s been on trial at Barnet for a month-and-a-half but they didn’t offer him a contract.”
Leaving the Brickies are midfielder Festus Lori, who’s been released, while defender Caleb Roberts has joined Bearsted on dual-registration.
Sittingbourne beat VCD 5-4 on penalties after a 4-4 draw in the Velocity Trophy last night but are without a game this Saturday.
They probably won’t be playing next weekend either as scheduled opponents Whyteleafe are still in the FA Cup.
