Sittingbourne manager Nick Davis and his players are ready to pay for training out of their own pockets.
Brickies haven’t trained since a budget cut last month saw Davis reluctantly axe their weekly session to save costs, rather than cutting what is already an inexperienced squad.
They’ve been getting by on team-talks alone but that can’t go on if Brickies are to secure a top-half finish in Ryman League Division 1 South.
Davis said: “We need to try and find funds from outside the club, whether that’s by favours or by everyone putting in a couple of quid to get somewhere.
“It’s my problem and I’ve got to deal with it but it’s not ideal.
“We’ve not got many midweek games so Saturday to Saturday is a long time to go without seeing the players.
“It’s essential a club at this level of football are able to train.
“You take Carshalton on Saturday. We had a gameplan but it was a case of going through it on a board before the game where we’d not been able to train.”
Brickies take on struggling Guernsey in a 1pm kick-off at Woodstock on Saturday.
They’ve been boosted by left-back Tom Carlse's decision to reject a move to league rivals Hastings.
Davis said: “He’s been brilliant for us for this season.
“There was me saying I thought I had the best left-back in the league in Conrad Lee but I think we’ve found an even better one in Tom.”
Brickies have Tom Carr, Connor Wilkins, Danny Rumbol and Ricky Gundry back available for the Guernsey game, while Steven Ita is closing in on a return after a groin injury.
