Sittingbourne Football Club have a message for people in the town: We’re still here.
It’s four years since Brickies moved to Woodstock from Bourne Park and it seems too many people have forgotten about them.
They have an exciting young team but research, conducted by club partners Jace Media, unearthed some unexpected results.
Secretary John Pitts said: "The potential is there but what’s worrying is people saying they didn’t know Sittingbourne were still going.
"I find that unbelievable because the coverage we get in the Sittingbourne News Extra is tremendous, we’re on social media with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and the website has got to be the best at our level, with all the archive material we have on there going back through the 1990s.
"We don’t understand people saying they didn’t know the club existed."
Brickies finished mid-table in Ryman League Division 1 South this season.
The club will always operate within their means but don’t want to stand still.
Pitts said: "We have a committee that is really dedicated. We’re all progressive and we want to move on – we don’t want to stay at step four for ever.
"If we could get a bit of success then our crowds would soon start building. I go to some clubs and they say they don’t want to go up, that they can’t afford to be promoted, and I just think what sort of attitude is that?
"If you don’t want to go up, then why bother at all?"
