Versatile youngster Sam Hallett has joined Sittingbourne from Kent rivals Whitstable.
Hallett could make his home debut when Bourne host runaway Ryman League, Division 1 South leaders Peacehaven on Saturday.
Brickies joint-boss Matt Wyatt said: “I’ve said we aren’t actively looking to sign anyone but if the right player becomes available then we’ll see what we can do.
“Sam is ideal in that he’s young, enthusiastic, willing to learn and has a good attitude. He fits in the budget nicely and is someone we think we can work on and keep at the club for a while.
“We have a lot of games coming up after all the postponements and it’s important we have an 18-man squad.”
Peacehaven sit 11 points clear at the top of the table and are unbeaten in 16 matches. They have scored 76 goals in 26 league games.
Wyatt expects a tough match but doesn’t want to worry his players by talking up the opposition too much.
He said: “One thing I’ve learned quickly in management is you can over-complicate things. We’ll give the players essential information on Peacehaven but I don’t want my team-talk to be all about them."
