A Kent town council have erected stunning rainbow banners in thanks to NHS and Key Workers on the coronavirus front line.
Tenterden Town Council have displayed the colourful tributes on their Town Hall balcony, as well as on the recreation ground and St Michael's park.
The banners are to thank local workers who are engaged in the fight against the Covid-19 virus.
Deputy Clerk Claire Gilbert said: “We wanted a big, bold and very visual statement of how proud we are of everyone who is engaged in the fight against the virus.
“Our banners are a tribute to all those local people on the front-line, from the NHS doctors and nurses at Ivy Court Surgery to supermarket staff and delivery drivers, care home assistants to refuse collectors, and so many out-and-about workers risking their own safety for others."
The council also confirmed emergency funding of £1,000 to Helping In Tenterden (HIT), a team of volunteers in the town who have been responding to an increasing number of calls.
The volume of requests to the group has risen to more than 400 in the past four weeks, and has seen the group running a daily programme of food shopping and prescription deliveries to vulnerable and self-isolating people.
