Two cyclists have been seriously injured after a crash involving a car on a busy road.
The air ambulance was called to join police and paramedics at the scene near Tenterden at around 5.55pm yesterday evening.
A black Ford Focus was involved in the collision, which was near the junction with Preston Lane.
Officers closed the B2067 Brook Street, between the town and Woodchurch, following the crash.
Paramedics also attended the scene alongside the hazardous area response team.
The air ambulance was spotted landing on Tenterden recreation ground a short time later.
One of the cyclists, a woman, was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.
The other, a teenage girl, was taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford by road.
A police spokesperson said: "We were called shortly before 6pm yesterday to a report of a collision involving a car and two bicycles.
"Officers attended the scene in Brook Street, Woodchurch, with the ambulance service.
"A woman reported serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital.
"A second person was taken to a local hospital for treatment to injuries."
An ambulance spokesman confirmed both cyclists had been seriously injured and taken to hospital.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage, particularly another motorist who is believed to have stopped at the scene but left before officers arrived.
