The suspect caught on CCTV

A ROBBER armed with a knife stole cash from the till at a petrol station in a Kent village.

Police say the raider entered the shop at St Michael’s Service Station in Ashford Road, near Tenterden, shortly after 8.30pm on Monday.

Police spokeswoman Rosemary Alexander said: "He made a purchase but when the till opened he reached across the counter and stole a quantity of cash.

"He was holding a knife in his hand, but did not threaten the shop assistant with it. He left the shop and ran off across the garage forecourt towards Tenterden."
