This exquisite rocking horse being admired by actress Joanna Lumley at the Chelsea Flower Show will set you back £12,000.

Beautifully-painted, it is the result of a collaboration between rocking horse makers Stevenson Brothers of Bethersden and equine artist Laura Jeanne, who spent more than 200 hours on the creation.

The Hertfordshire-based artist is also a fashion designer who has created costumes for West End stages, but she is most well-known for her work with horses, with her art being displayed at the House of Nobility in Stockholm, Sweden, and at the Liverpool International Horse Show. Laura's life-size painted horses have also been featured on the Channel 4 series Posh Pawn.

The Chelsea horse has been named The Four Seasons and depicts spring daffodils, summer roses, autumn blackberries and winter robins, as well as a doorway on the horse's neck leading to a secret world.

The rocking horse is gracing the main thoroughfare of Eastern Avenue, at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, where Kate Middleton has created her Back to Nature Garden.

It will remain on display until tomorrow and Stevenson Brothers spokesman Sue Russell said she had already received a few enquiries from potential buyers about the horse that costs £10,000 plus £2,000 VAT.

Featuring a white and gold leather saddle, its tail is made of real horse-hair tail to comply with regulations as it can be absorbed harmlessly in case of accidental swallowing by a child.
