Laura Napper wants music in Tenterden's public toilets

Cleaning boss Laura Napper takes pride in keeping Tenterden’s toilets in tip-top condition.
But as well as spotless sinks and pristine toilet pans she wants visitors who pay a visit to her super-clean public conveniences to enjoy music on the loo.
Mrs Napper, 40, who owns Tenterden Twilight Commercial Cleaning launched an online poll asking the 700 followers of Tenterden toilets what tune they wanted to hear when they were having a tinkle.
Her Twitter poll @Tenterdensloos asks if visitors would prefer hiphop from Chance the Rapper, classic compositions from Hans Zimmer, Jazz from Miles Davis, or rock ‘n’ roll from The Doors.
Entrepreneur Laura, set up a twitter account for the toilets in the town 18 months ago when she launched her business, said: “Public toilets have a bad reputation but I’m trying to make them much nicer places to be.
“The idea of music in the toilets came from Cllr Sue Ferguson who had mentioned it in a meeting and so I thought we could have some fun with the idea.”
Mum-of-two Laura has now extended the number of toilet blocks she cleans beyond Tenterden, where she still looks after the blocks in Recreation Ground Road, Station Road and St Michael’s for Tenterden Town Council.
She’s yet to meet her Waterloo as there’s no toilet she has failed to turn around from grimy to gleaming.
Laura’s even posted pictures of her toilets with different coloured filters on them, captioning them with descriptions such as ‘cool’ and ‘golden hour’, tweeting ‘50 shades of clean down at the park’.
Votes are still being counted before Laura announces the winners and loo-sers in the music poll.
If you have any Loo-ney tunes suggestions please email them to kentishexpress@thekmgroup.co.uk. Thank loo!
