Man taken to hospital after being hit by lorry in Tenterden High Street

A man has been taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry in a town centre.
Paramedics, police and the fire service were at the scene in Tenterden High Street following the collision.
The road was closed between Small Hythe Road and East Cross after the crash near The White Lion.
It is understood an elderly man was hurt in the collision.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “The ambulance service was called to reports of a crash involving a lorry and a pedestrian on the High Street in Tenterden.
“Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before taking them to William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment.”
The road has now been reopened.
A spokesman for police added: “Kent Police was called to a report of a collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian in Tenterden High Street at 1.23pm.
“Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital.
“Emergency services remain at the scene and police are working to reopen the road.”
