The last pint has been pulled at a town-centre pub this week - ahead of a £250,000 transformation.

The Vine in Tenterden is being completely redesigned by owners Shepherd Neame and is set to feature an open kitchen, with a new bar and dining area, at the heart of the upgrade.

Fresh decor, plus new furniture and lighting will complete the internal transformation, while the high street pub's Victorian facade will be repainted, with both signage and lighting updated.

Outside areas will be improved in the spruce-up and the rear garden is being re-paved and will have new furniture installed in readiness for summer trade.

The Vine closed on Tuesday and refurbishment work is expected to take several weeks, with the pub due to re-open at the end of May

Shepherd Neame director of retail and tenanted operations Nigel Bunting said: “We are delighted to announce this significant investment in The Vine.
