Corks are popping at Kent's Chapel Down winery.
Its white sparkling Pinot Reserve 2002 has won a bronze award in the Decanter World Wine Awards.
With a new restaurant in full swing, the news is the icing on the cake for the winery’s managing director Frazer Thompson.

Mr Thompson said:"I have lost count of the number of awards we have got since we began going in for international competitions in 2004. It is great to get a bronze, though silver would have been better, and gold best!"
"It is a boost to our team, and helps benchmark ourselves against other producers."
Chapel Down is not afraid of the competition. "Over half the wines in our restaurant our not English, says Frazer, "but 80 per cent of those consumed are."
With its sights firmly set on a huge demand for the 2012 London Olympics, Chapel Down is planning on increasing the 190 acres on which and its growers currently produce, going to 350 acres in three years, 500 acres in five years and 1000 acres five years after that.
Their Pinot Reserve 2002 is on sale at the winery www.englishwinegroup.com at £24.99 a bottle.
Win a bottle of the award-winning Pinot Reserve 2002.
