A car has smashed through a high street store’s window forcing it to temporarily close.
Glass was left shattered on the floor outside Mint Velvet in Tenterden when the accident, involving a gold Ford Kuga, happened this morning.
Police and paramedics were called shortly after 7.30am and the driver was treated for minor injuries.
The shop, which sells women’s clothing, posted a notice today saying: “Due to unforeseen circumstances we will be shut until further notice.
“We will open when it is safe to do so.”
The broken window has since been boarded up and it is understood the retailer will reopen as normal tomorrow.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: “Officers were called at 7.38am on Sunday to a report a car had collided with a building in Tenterden High Street.
“Officers and paramedics attended the scene where the driver reported minor injuries.”
