When Graham and Tara Smith married two years ago, only six people were present.
Tara was waiting for a double lung transplant and had been given only a 50% chance of living for another two years without the surgery.
The couple did not know until the last minute if their wedding would go ahead, as she may have been called to hospital if a donor became available.
Tara, 40, who has cystic fibrosis, underwent the transplant four months later, in October 2013.
She and Graham, 47, decided to celebrate their second wedding anniversary with a blessing and renewal of their vows in front of 250 friends last Saturday.
They walked from their home in Tenterden to St Mildred’s Church – stopping off on the way for some fun on the playground.
Tara still has to have hospital visits, but said she was feeling fine, adding: “The transplant has been a new life for me.”
