A serious accident led to the closure of a busy road in Ramsgate this morning.

Emergency crews were called to Margate Road, next to the former Rank Hovis flour mill, at around 8.30am.

Police spokesman Scarlet Jones said: "Kent Police received a report of a collision involving two vehicles at 8.31am on Friday, July 15.

"The road is currently closed while officers and Secamb are attending the scene."

The road was partially reopened at 9.35am, and fully open by 10.45am.

Delays have since cleared.
