An air ambulance took off from a field following an incident near an Asda supermarket.
The helicopter was spotted on farmland opposite the superstore in St Peter’s, Broadstairs, shortly before 11pm last night (Saturday).
It was quickly followed by four ambulances just minutes later.
All were spotted parked by a roundabout in Westwood Road (A256) near the junction with the A255 and just a few hundred metres behind St George’s Church of England School.
One person told KentOnline the vehicles were at the scene for more than 20 minutes, before three left in the direction of Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother (QEQM) hospital in Margate.
The air ambulance is said to have followed shortly afterwards before departing in the direction of Redhill in Surrey.
The resident said: “It was way too loud so I looked through the window [and] saw a helicopter landing and thought it might have been in difficulty or something as the road was empty.
“Within a minute four ambulances came to a stop near the helicopter.
“One ambulance left towards Dane Court, two ambulances and a car left towards QEQM.”
Paramedics say the incident involved a casualty at a private address, while Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) confirmed crews were stood down before reaching the patient.
