Three people have been taken to hospital after the air ambulance landed at a multi-vehicle crash near Ramsgate.
Police were also sent to the three-vehicle collision on the A256 Richborough Way in Cliffsend shortly before midday.
The northbound stretch was shut while emergency services responded to the incident.
A police spokesman said: “We were called to a three-vehicle collision at the Sevenscore Roundabout near Ramsgate shortly before midday today.
“Emergency services are currently at the scene and the A256 Richborough Way is closed northbound while the incident is responded to.”
An ambulance service spokesperson says crews assessed and treated three patients at the scene before being joined by the air ambulance.
“One patient was taken by air and two were taken by road to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford for further medical treatment,” they said.
There are long traffic delays in the area due to the collision but it is understood motorists started moving at about 1.45pm.
Kent Highways tweeted: “Reports of an RTC and oil spillage on the Sevenscore Roundabout junction between the A299 Thanet Way and A256.
“Emergency services are in attendance and a Kent Highways representative is en route to assist with the clear-up.”
The air ambulance left the scene shortly after 1pm.
