An air ambulance landed in a village park late last night.

The helicopter was seen in Thanet at Birchington Recreation Ground in Laming Road.

It touched the ground just after 11.30pm after an emergency at 10.45pm.

South East Coast Ambulance Service has confirmed the air ambulance was assisting paramedics with an incident at a private address in Westfield Road.

Residents reported on social media that it took off in the direction of QEQM hospital and officers were also on scene.

A police spokesman added: “Kent Police assisted South East Coast Ambulance Service following a medical incident at a property in Westfield Road, Birchington at 10.45 pm on Sunday 15 October 2023.”
