Ramsgate man arrested after knife seized at Broadstairs firework display

A man has been arrested after police seized a 12-inch kitchen knife at Broadstairs firework display.

Officers on patrol at the event last night arrested a 21-year-old from Ramsgate in connection with a serious assault on Friday, July 13.

A 19-year-old man was attacked during the early hours in Harbour Street and suffered an arm injury.

The 21-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife, and in connection with an aggravated burglary on June 12 in Royal Road, Ramsgate, in which a man in his 50s was injured after masked intruders broke into his home.

He remains in custody while inquiries continue.
