Detectives have stepped up their investigation into a burglary that saw a dying man lose the £3,000 he had saved for his own funeral.
Terry Price, who has terminal kidney cancer, returned from the shops to his home in Leopold Road, Ramsgate, to find the cash had been swiped on Saturday, November 12.
The 66-year-old had saved the money from his benefits over four years as he "didn't want to burden anyone with" having to meet cost of his funeral and wake.
And now police are urging residents to come forward with footage that could assist their probe into the incident.
This comes after officers carried out forensic checks, as well as house-to-house enquiries in the area.
A police spokesman said this week: "Between 2.30pm and 3.10pm on November 12, a property in Leopold Road was broken into and a large amount of cash was stolen.
"Detectives have since been carrying out forensic investigation, as well as house-to-house and CCTV enquiries in the area.
"As part of continuing enquiries, we are appealing to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area that day to contact police."
Mr Price's battle with terminal kidney cancer has left him with countless health problems, including spots on his lungs.
He also had to go under the knife for treatment of a bone in his hip the cancer had spread to. The procedure left him housebound.
Speaking after the incident, Mr Price said: "I came in and noticed stuff disturbed around my table and as soon as I looked underneath the bed I saw my tin had gone.
"They cleaned me right out and left me with nothing.
"I just broke down because it was my funeral money, my wake money, and Christmas presents for the kids.
"The people who are responsible are such scum.
"I want them punished."
A fundraiser was later launched to help the retired market trader, who is unable to work and relied on benefits, to save the now-stolen £3,010.
The page has already raised more than £8,500.
Police have also released advice urging residents to make security arrangements to avoid being victims themselves. The tips included installing CCTV, security lights or a burglar alarm.
"Anyone with information, or dashcam or CCTV footage which may assist investigators, should call 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/218728/22," the police spokesman added.
"You can also contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
