A man has been arrested after betting shop staff were verbally abused in a reported attempted robbery.

Police were called to the Betfred shop in Ramsgate's Harbour Street yesterday after a man reportedly leant over the counter to try and take money from the till between 5pm and 5.15pm.

A 52-year-old from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and is in police custody.
