A thug scarred a man for life after pouring boiling water over his back following a vicious attack.

Lloyd Thomas met his victim on a night out in Margate in July last year.

They went back to Thomas’ flat in Central Road, Ramsgate, where fellow defendant Samantha Dale, 21, said she thought the man had been accused of an assault several years ago.

An argument broke out and Thomas, 47, launched a brutal attack, knocking his victim to the floor and kicking him while Dale joined in.

Thomas then held the man face down over the back of a sofa and poured boiling water over him from a kettle.

The victim managed to escape from the house and seek help.

He was treated at the burns unit at East Grinstead hospital, suffering 15% burns, and was told he would need skin grafts in the future and would be scarred for life.

He had never been charged with assault.

Thomas and Dale were both arrested on August 14 but denied any involvement.

Thomas was later picked out by the victim during an ID parade.

Thomas and Dale were charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent but pleaded not guilty.

They were found guilty by a jury at Canterbury Crown Court and were sentenced yesterday.

Thomas was jailed for ten years while Dale got 16 months for her part in the assault.
