Boy, 4, in critical condition after being hit by car in Cliftonville

A four-year-old boy is in a critical condition after he was hit by an SUV.

The young pedestrian suffered serious injuries in the incident, which happened at about 11.15am yesterday in Northdown Road, Cliftonville.

The incident happened in Northdown Road in Cliftonville

The child was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London following the collision involving a black Hyundai Tucson. He remains in a critical condition.

Police shut the road while enquiries were carried out near the scene, which was close to the junction of Arthur Road.

Officers have now launched an appeal for information.
