Police in Margate investigating after moped found burnt out in Dane Park

Police have launched an investigation after a moped was found destroyed by fire in a park.

The bike was discovered this morning by walkers in Dane Park in Margate.

Pictures shows the extent of the damage to the vehicle with scorch marks around it on the paths.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown and officers are now calling for witnesses to come forward to help track down the owners.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to Park Crescent Road in Margate at 8.30am on Monday, May 20 where a moped had been damaged by fire.

"It is not known how the fire started or who the moped belongs to."
